The focus of my work is human beings and our fellow creatures. I study human and animal anatomy. I want to know and understand. Yet my work starts and develops by a feeling of a shape or an emotional reaction. At the core of my work is the hope or belief in the human potential for intelligence and compassion. It’s as if in the struggle to resolve a form, the tension between these and other human propensities might be reconciled.
